August Ames defined 2010s porn with Canadian beauty and natural ease on camera. Born Mercedes Grabowski on August 23, 1994, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, she grew up around military bases before entering adult entertainment in November 2013 at nineteen. In a four-year career, she made more than one hundred films and received four AVN nominations, three for Female Performer of the Year. Her work included threesomes with Abigail Mac and Valentina Nappi, encounters with imposing Black partners, and memorable sex in an office restroom. She died in December 2017 and remains one of North American porn's most deeply missed faces.
